She came through the red door wearing the last light of evening.

Her hair was black weather.
Her dress knew the language of fire.

“Where are you going?” I asked.

She smiled like someone remembering the end of the world.

Then the room grew quiet.
The walls leaned closer.
Somewhere, a match struck inside the dark.

She turned once, slowly, and vanished—

leaving only gold on the floor
and the night asking for her name.
