The Big Art Pop-up 2

The Big Art Pop-up 2 at The Oaklander Hotel on May 19th was an exceptional showcase of Pittsburgh’s vibrant art scene. From 4 to 9 p.m., the hotel’s stylish setting was transformed into a dynamic gallery featuring large-format works from over 30 of the city’s most talented local artists. The event, a sequel to the highly successful first pop-up, did not disappoint.

The atmosphere was electric, with DJ Kelly providing a smooth soundtrack of chill music that perfectly complemented the visual feast on display. The live painting on the patio was a highlight, offering guests a glimpse into the creative process of some of the artists. This interactive element added a layer of excitement and engagement, making the art feel even more alive.

Attendees enjoyed a variety of drink specials, which helped keep the energy high and the conversations flowing. The event was free to attend, which was a generous gesture that made the arts more accessible to a wider audience. Every piece of artwork was available for purchase, offering a unique opportunity for art lovers to take home a piece of Pittsburgh’s creative spirit.

I was honored to have my piece, “Main Street USA: Sunset on the Boulevard,” featured in the show. Seeing my work alongside such incredible talent was a humbling and inspiring experience.

Overall, the Big Art Pop-up 2 was a resounding success. It not only highlighted the incredible talent within Pittsburgh’s art community but also fostered a sense of camaraderie and excitement among attendees. If you missed this one, make sure to mark your calendar for the next pop-up event—you won’t want to miss it.
