A beacon? Maybe. Against the concrete sea, gray swallowing gray. Orange hat—oversized, bold, loud, soft. Defying what? Perched. It claimed space like a thought too wild to finish, refusing fade. Paint dripping—memories, or was it time, spilling, pooling, breaking. Edges, rugged, not carved but torn. By what? By everything.
And beneath—yellow block. Heavy. Still. Not standing, not lying, not body, just there. Holding without holding. A clash, a companion. Foundation, friction, the anchor of noise too quiet to hear. The hat, leaning, bending, but not falling, because block. Yellow, absurd, perfect. Together a question, a shout, a silence, all at once.
