About White Dress #35
White Dress #35 brings together bold contrast, expressive movement, and room to find your own meaning.
Against a bright turquoise background, sweeping white marks weave around an elongated black form. Loose lines, visible knife work, and trailing drips give the composition a spontaneous energy, while its tall, narrow shape draws the eye through the painting.
White Dress is the most collected series I paint. Each piece offers a different expression of the subject, and #35 pairs an airy background with a strong, dramatic central gesture.
